No, PALCard is a unique name for UCI's purchasing card. Tell merchants you will be purchasing with a VISA card.

No, similar to a personal credit card, once a transaction has been processed, the cardholder must contact the supplier to request a credit.

Cards may not be transferred from department to department - they must be canceled. Send an email to PALCard@uci.edu requesting your account be closed. After receiving an email confirming your account is closed, shred the card or cut it in several pieces and dispose of it.

$5000 is the dollar amount threshold for a high-value purchase i.e., <$5000 is low value). Restricted commodities have “yes” in the “restricted” indicator of its code. Even if <$5000, if purchasing a restricted commodity, it is considered high-risk and will route to Central Procurement for review and approval.

All original documentation must be kept on file in the department according to university Retention Schedules.

Yes, reconciler can reallocate charges to another departmental account(s) or fund(s) in KFS.

Yes, a supervisor or reconciler may request a change to the default account/fund by opening up a ticket and selecting PALCard, General Questions.

Federal export laws and University requirements may apply to your international shipment depending on the item, destination, end-user, and end-use. To minimize risks of customs delays, seizure of goods, or inadvertent violation of federal export laws resulting in fines and criminal convictions, please submit a Shipment Review Form to the Export Control Office. This review will help determine whether an export license is required as well as any restricted party or sanctioned country screening. Yes, the same requirements apply for all purchases. There is a hard block on purchases over $10K on PALCard for any Federal Purchases.

When contacting US Bank you will need to verify your identity. In order to do so, you will need to have the following:

  • Social Security (UCPath employee ID, can be found by logging into UCPath, ID will be displayed in top left corner)
  • Name of Program Administrator for UCI: Anita Centeno, Jennifer Chey, or Victoria Wong
  • Phone number
  • Card limits (standard credit limit: $10K - may vary for some - standard single purchase limit: $5000)
  • Card transaction limit (velocity limit daily: 25, monthly limit: 100 - may vary for some)
  • UCI email address
  • Your work/billing address

The information that US Bank has was pulled from the cardholder agreement you completed and signed. You can also log into Access Online in US Bank to obtain your card profile information.
